1884 Peter Christian and Lorenz Johann Asmussen buy the "Elmshorner Sprit- und Hefefabrik A.G." with an alcohol, yeast, and malt production.

1916 Because of WWI, the raw material for the yeast and alcohol production must be changed from corn to molasses.

1984 Erich Asmussen, son of Lorenz Asmussen, is taking up the company shares of the heirs of Peter Christel Asmussen.

1990 After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Gebrüder Asmussen resumes exports to the east.

1991 Trademarks like chocolate, shortening etc. are complete the delivery program.

1999 - 2008 Extensive investment in machinery brings the latest technology to production.

2009 The belgium yeast producer Algist Bruggemann NV, a subsidiary of the french Lesaffre Group, is taking over the yeast Factory Gebrüder Asmussen GmbH & Co. KG.

Under the new company name ASMUSSEN GmbH backing yeast is still produced. Via a consistant Quality Control in all production steps our customers will be supplied with only highlevel products. This is supported by modern machinery and environmental friendly technology.
